Whitney Elizabeth Houston known as Whitney Houston, (born August 9, 1963, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.), was an iconic American singer, actress, and producer.

She began singing in church as a child. Her mother, Cissy Houston, was a gospel singer, and her cousin, Dionne Warwick, was a prominent singer, which influenced Whitney’s early musical development.

Nicknamed “The Voice”, she became one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 220 million records sold worldwide.

Houston’s debut album, released in 1985, was a massive success, featuring hits like “Saving All My Love for You” and “How Will I Know.”

She continued to dominate the music charts with subsequent albums, including “Whitney” (1987) and “I’m Your Baby Tonight” (1990).

Her rendition of “I Will Always Love You” from the soundtrack of “The Bodyguard” (1992), cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” from 1974, became one of the best-selling singles of all time.

Houston’s powerful and emotive voice earned her numerous awards, including 6 Grammy Awards, 22 American Music Awards, and 2 Emmy Awards.

In addition to her music career, Houston also made a significant impact in film, starring in movies such as “The Bodyguard” and “Waiting to Exhale.” Despite her professional success, she faced personal struggles, including issues with substance abuse.

Whitney Houston passed away on February 11, 2012 (Aged 48) in Beverly Hills, California, but her legacy continues to influence and inspire artists around the world.
