Iyeoka Okoawo is an American singer, poet, and educator of Nigerian heritage. Born on April 28, 1975, in Boston, Massachusetts, she initially worked as a pharmacist before transitioning to a career in music and poetry.

Her music blends elements of soul, R&B, rock, hip hop, and jazz.

She founded the group The Rock by Funk Tribe, which allowed her to merge her poetry with various musical genres.

Iyeoka has released several albums, including “Black and Blues,” “Hum The Bass Line,” and “Say Yes” with track “Simply Falling.

Her song “The Yellow Brick Road Song” was featured in the HBO series “How To Make It in America” and is the theme song for the USA Network series “Fairly Legal”.

She is also a TEDGlobal Fellow and has toured with artists like Femi Kuti and Zap Mama.
